This is the one people message us about. Cempedak, the fragrant cousin of the jackfruit, folded through a buttery cake and buried under a thick crumble top. Sweet, a little floral, and unmistakably from here.
It sells out most weeks we have it on. Cempedak is seasonal, so it comes and goes with the fruit. The mailing list is the quickest way to hear when it’s back. By the slice, or as a whole 8-inch cake.

About the Cempedak Crumble Cake
What does cempedak taste like?
Softer and sweeter than jackfruit, and far gentler than durian. It is custardy rather than fibrous, with a warm, almost caramel note. If durian is too much for you, cempedak usually is not. There is a full guide in our ingredient explainer.
Where can I buy cempedak cake in Singapore?
Very few bakeries make one. We bake ours in Tampines and deliver islandwide, or you can collect it free from 406 Tampines St 41 #01-23.
Is the cempedak cake always available?
No. Cempedak is seasonal and we only bake it when the fruit is good, so it appears and disappears through the year. Join the mailing list and we will tell you when it is back.
How much is a whole cempedak cake?

Does it contain durian?
No. Cempedak and durian are related but they are different fruits, and there is no durian in the cake.
